For the past two decades we’ve focused on building a strong community and congregation, building our families and ministries. Now, in any given week this building sees hundreds of people come through its doors from all generations, communities and walks of life. This is a well-loved home, and boy, it certainly starting to show! Just as we would individually invest into the upkeep of our own valuable assets, let’s work together through Heart for The House to give some TLC towards bringing this building up to a place we will be proud to call home.
Our facilities and aesthetics were designed and built in the late 1990’s with the plan that they would last us 20 years. At the time of build the entranceway to the auditorium served the needs of a much smaller congregation. Our church has grown, now because of congestion and design we need to widen this area, improve the flow of foot traffic to and from services and events and create a more welcoming entrance into the auditorium. We also plan to repaint the walls in both the Auditorium and Fellowship areas and re-carpet with funds held in general reserve.
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a professional service that provides practical and free support in managing finance, eliminating debt and creating a livable budget for households. We have an exciting opportunity to now open our own CAP Debt Centre that will increase our capacity to help even more households. A portion of your pledge will go towards the set-up costs and wages of a part time worker for this ministry. We also have an opportunity to place a new person in Pakuranga college for 20 hours a week working under “Young Life’ supporting youth as they face the challenges of life.
Ways to give:
So how are we tracking?
To raise $100,000 over twelve months. You can help to make this goal a reality by pledging a one-off or monthly gift. If you’re in a position to give above regular tithing to this project, your contributions will go towards funding upgrades at our Pakuranga campuses.
Our Heart for the House Appeal also extends to the incredible things happening in the life of our Te Kauwhata campus. Our goal is to raise $12,000 over 12 months, to go towards capital equipment and a contribution towards a pastoral assistant..
As we give faithfully to this area, we’re expectant to see Him grow our reach so we can better serve and spread hope to the community around us.
