Community and Culture
Discover our different community and cultural ministries.
A group that meets for coffee, cake and good company. Occasionally, there’s a craft, shared activity or guest speaker. Take a moment out of your busy week to connect with other women and spend some well-deserved time for yourself!
Our free dinners are a place for everybody in every walk of life to enjoy, belong and call home. Every Monday night, we host a simple and nutritious meal (that include dessert, of course) that offers you a chance to provide for your family and connect with others in the community. While there is no charge for dinner, we always appreciate a small koha (donation) towards putting these dinners on. We'd love to have you over and get to know you, so make plans with the whole family to join us.
A friendly group run with an emphasis on friendship and camaraderie. This is a social group that meet at Eastgate on Sundays and alternate between a variety of 7km courses. There’s something for everyone from beginners to the competitive. Everyone is welcome! Just turn up on the day or enquire now to find out more information.

This community also hosts a Chinese Marriage Course: A safe environment where Chinese couples can experience living faith and feel a sense of belonging as they grow in the Eastgate family. Anyone is welcome to join the course at any time, and even better, it’s free. Come along if you’re passionate about improving the quality of your marriage and growing closer together.

Mainly Music is a programme welcoming parents and caregivers with toddlers to join in with a host of different musical activities. We have fun with singing, have songs with actions and play a variety of musical instruments. It’s run by a team of enthusiastic helpers who interact personally with parents and children.
Playgroup invites parents, caregivers and their pre-schoolers to come and share in a morning of play, shared mat time, song and dance, morning tea and craft. It’s a great opportunity to meet with other families in the community in a fun and safe environment.
